Todd Vandenhaak is a professional civil engineer with over 20 years of experience in the design and construction industry. Todd provides expert consulting on cost, schedule, and scope throughout the construction project lifecycle. Todd’s expertise includes claims development and analyses with a focus on cost impacts, schedule delay, productivity / inefficiency analyses, change order assessments, performance review, damages quantification, and differing site conditions. He provides expertise in Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, early completion acceleration analysis, and cumulative impact analyses.
Todd’s experience developing claims includes all phases of the dispute resolution process in various venues and Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) forums. He has produced expert reports and testified in arbitration domestically and internationally, including American Arbitration Association (AAA), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) rules, and others. Todd has testified as a construction expert in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. His expert services include developing and responding to claims for owners, contractors and designers. Todd also prepares Builder’s Risk/Construction All Risk “CAR” claims, including Delay in Start-Up (DSU) claims.
Prior to his role as a construction expert, Todd has worked as a civil engineer, providing consulting services and developing final engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for clients both domestically and internationally. His work for contractors and engineering firms includes experience in project management, project engineering, and construction management, including direct supervision of contractor work efforts, production and review of final design drawings, estimating, bidding, scheduling, and contract development.
Todd has a BS in civil engineering from the University of Washington, and an MBA from Arizona State University. Todd is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Washington, a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Cost Professional (CCP), and a Certified Forensic Claims Consultant (CFCC).
