The Sutor Group was engaged by S&W Utilities and its insurance companies, Valley Insurance Company and Ohio Casualty Insurance Company, to assist in valuing the unpaid changes and earned contract value.
Residential site development which included all earthwork, sanitary sewer, storm systems, water services and asphalt paving. The work scope of the contractor also included the blasting of existing rock as required.
S&W did not complete all contract work therefore an earned value of work in place was determined. In addition, the amount of rock on site was more than anticipated with changed both the manner and methods of construction which increased the costs of the contractor.
S&W was seeking compensation for extra rock blasting, and extra costs due to the magnitude of rock on the project. In addition, S&W did not complete all contract work and the parties were in disagreement to the final contract price.
